Which classes are right for me?

• We offer classes for multiple skill levels, Intro to Pistol shooting is our introductory class and is designed for students who have little or no knowledge of handgun fundamentals or students who may need to refresh their skills. Concealed Carry courses are for those who wish to become certified to carry a concealed handgun

How do I register for a class?

• To register for a class, select your class on the schedule page for the date you wish to attend. You will be redirected to the registration page where you will register for the course.

What do I do after I register for a class?

• After you are registered you will receive a followup email from us with details and instructions for your class. Payment is required in advance to reserve your place in the class.

Why should I take a training course?

• Handing and shooting a firearm requires a great deal of responsibility. If not handled properly and safely firearms can be dangerous. Our courses will train you to become safe and proficient with a firearm. If you have already been trained in gun safety, our courses can improve your skills and make you a better shooter.

Does a certificate from your class allow to carry a concealed handgun?

• NO, For citizens who wish to obtain a NC concealed carry permit, our CCH class is only the 1st step. Our class will meet the NC requirements qualifying you to apply for a concealed carry permit at your local sheriffs office. The sheriff still reserves the right to deny your application.

Will I be the only woman in the class?

• No, women make up 50-60% of our students in most classes.

How big are the classes?

• Our maximum class size for most classes is 24

What is the minimum age requirement?

• At this time our minimum age for our classes is 18, however you must be 21 to apply for a CCH permit. We may also have special Gun Safety Training days for youth with parental consent and supervision.

What should I wear to the range?

• Our range is an outdoor range, so dress for the weather. Wear comfortable flat shoes and long pants or shorts. For your safety, NO open toed shoes or shirts with low necklines are permitted, long hair should be pulled back.

What do I need to bring to class?

• For the classroom portion you will need a pen and paper for taking notes. Eye and ear protection is required for all range activities, if you do not have them, they can be provided for you. Please bring the appropriate firearm and ammunition for the course you are taking. We do have firearms available for rent if needed. Firearms are provided for the "Basics of Pistol Shooting" course. You may bring a lunch if you'd like.

What happens if I cant make it to my class?

• ​If for some reason you can not make it to your scheduled class, please try to let us know at least week in advance. We do not offer refunds, however you may reschedule or apply your credit to another course. Reschedule fees may apply.

What if its raining on class day?

• Severe weather may cancel classes, however classes will continue as scheduled unless otherwise notified.
  If questionable please check your email the night before and morning of your class for updates.

Do you offer advanced classes?

• Yes, our defensive pistol classes are for our more advance shooters, these classes are by request only and require a minimum of 5 students. These classes are for students who wish to learn defensive pistol skills (shooting from behind cover, shooting under stress, accelerated fire, shooting while moving, etc.

Can I take a class even if I dont have my own gun?

• Yes, Liberty Defense has Firearms available for rent for an additional fee. If you need to rent a firearm, please notify us upon registering for your class so we can have your rental ready for you.

Do you have discounts available?

• Yes, We offer discounts to Veterans, First Responders, and Teachers. After you have taken a class at Liberty Defense, you are considered an Alumni! All alumni will receive a 10% discount for future classes. You may also follow us on Facebook for seasonal discounts and promotions.
